As of March 1st, 2008 the operation of the self-service avgas facility has been transfered to the FBO, Shamrock Aviation. This will help the future success of the FBO, which in turn, is greatly beneficial to the airport. Ultimately, it was not practical for BPA to continue to operate the facility for the long term. It takes a large commitment of time to keep up the equipment and to continue to monitor the fuel condition. In order to try to maintain the competitiveness of the pricing for the users, BPA worked closely with the Airport Commission to enforce conditions on the FBO which require them to continue to be competitive with the retail price. They have stated that it is their desire to continue what BPA started and be a source of inexpensive fuel for the local tenants and transient aircraft. Shamrock is continuing to offer the discount card program for account holders. They have also added a full service option for a premium of approximately 25 cents. The current price can be found on Airnav.com.
